The Central Jersey Eagles is a High School-age rugby program based in Somerset County, New Jersey. We are open to all high school-age residents of New Jersey. We have both a Boys’ team and a Girls’ team. If you haven’t tried playing rugby yet, now is the time to join the Eagles!
Both the Boys’ and Girls’ programs are run as a full-contact sports activity with matches scheduled against other local community and single-school programs. We are a member of Rugby New Jersey, and USA Rugby.
We play full schedules in both Fall and Spring, as well as 7s Rugby in the Summer.
Fall practices start in September and continue until mid-November. Spring practices start in early March and continue until early June. Boys practices are held on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Girls’ practices are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Matches and tournaments are generally played on Sundays. We also field both Boys’ and Girls’ Summer 7’s teams.
There is no obligation to play both seasons – we have players who opt to only play in the Fall or only in the Spring.
Our home field is located at the Lyons VA Medical Center in Liberty Corner, New Jersey.
We play in Division 2 of Rugby New Jersey. Teams in our Division include Hudson Catholic, Bridgewater, Bergen, Monmouth and the West Milford Highlanders. We also play against teams from New York and Pennsylvania.
If you are a high school-age resident of New Jersey, we would be happy to talk to you about joining – no experience required!
We also welcome adults who would like help out as coaches, assistants and managers.
Central Jersey Rugby is a New Jersey Non-Profit Corporation and is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity.
